SCBD Webinar: Gender Considerations and Biodiversity, Sept. 27 (3:00 p.m. Eastern Time) [#9250]
Dear participants of the bulletin board:

On September 27, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, you are invited to participate in a webinar on gender considerations and biodiversity, by Ms. Tanya McGregor from the Convention on Biological Diversity Secretariat. The webinar is an introduction to gender equality and biodiversity linkages, and an overview of key gender elements under the Convention on Biological Diversity. Please find more information at https://biodivcanada.chm-cbd.net/celebrating-25-years-action-canadian-and-international-biodiversity.

We invite you to the webinar based on COP-MOP 8 decision, BS VIII/18, on public awareness, education and participation. The Secretariat was requested to, among others, continue and enhance cooperation with relevant organizations, as well as gender initiatives and other international, regional and national initiatives to further facilitate the implementation
of the programme of work. In this regard, it would be a good opportunity to further facilitate the programme of work and its priority areas, in particular priority area 1, 4 and 7 (in particular) on "Mobilize the public and ensure gender-equality for a wider target audience to participate in the decision-making process".

Best regards,
Ulrika Nilsson
